Suggestions For Selling

Create a catchy title.

The title of your itinerary must be at least 2 words.  Create a title that will catch the buyer’s attention.

Give a detailed description.

The only preview a buyer will get into your itinerary is the description you provide.  This is where you will “sell” your itinerary.  Make sure your description is thorough and interesting so your trip is appealing to the buyer.

Apply filters and tags.

Make sure to select all filters that apply to your trip so your itinerary will be found with multiple searches.  Also, include any additional tags you think are relevant to help describe your trip/itinerary.

Upload quality images.

Try to select the best images from your trip and avoid low resolution or grainy pictures.  Your pictures will be another selling point for you itinerary so make sure to choose the right ones.

Price appropriately.

The price point for each seller’s products are determined by the seller.  However, it is important to keep in mind that you are not selling any actual services. We suggest pricing itineraries between $10 and $35 based on the amount of resources you will include with your itinerary.  For example, if you will be including a day-by-day word document, a spreadsheet with budget information, and a Google Map with locations, you might want to set a higher price.  You may also want to consider the length of your trip.  An itinerary for a weekend getaway may not need to be priced as highly as a three week multi-city European adventure.  Use good judgement and consider what you might find appropriate if you were searching for a similar itinerary.

Follow up with buyer.

Customer Service goes a long way!  It is always a good idea to follow up with a buyer, thank them for their purchase, wish them happy travels, and ask them to review your itinerary when their trip is complete.

Promote your itineraries.

If you have a travel blog, use Insider Itinerary in conjunction with your travel stories to sell your trips.  Promote your Insider Itinerary shop through your Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and other social media accounts.

Don’t deceive.

Lastly, be honest in your itineraries.  Buyers will be able to review your itineraries and make comments about them.  Selling a misleading product could generate poor reviews and lower your sales over the long run.
